Descrizione evento

“ Frank and I had been looking for over five years for a space where we could show works from our collections to the public. But when we discovered the Old Dairy in Bloomsbury, we decided that it would actually be a lot more interesting to invite artists and curators to do shows that we love, rather than showing our collections. The artists and curators can then use works from our collections as they see fit, and many works will come directly from the artists, galleries, collectors or other institutions. We are both known as patrons of contemporary art, but the program is not necessarily going to be what people expect. I don’t really want to give too much away at this point, but I can tell you that every show will be our dream show! They will be visual, fun, beautiful, weird… and never boring! The Dairy Art Centre is a place where someone who has never seen art before will have just as good a time and will love (or hate) the art as much as the art connoisseur. We want our art center to be for everyone, and it is entirely free to visit! There are lots of interesting and educational events and happenings of all sorts. In addition to the art spaces, there is a funky bar, a strange concept shop, a design space, a video space and outdoor spaces. The Centre will change and emerge with every show. Let me put it this way: the opening show by Swiss artist John Armleder will set the tone for what you can expect.”
